AMELIA BURGESS, M.D.
Amelia Burgess, MD is a pediatrician and medical toxicology fellow at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN. As a medical student, she worked at the GHESKIO Centers in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, for one year. She continues to visit Haiti regularly, volunteering and teaching in various locations. Most recently, she spent several weeks at Klinik Timoun Nou Yo in Port Salut.
In the United States, Dr. Burgess has focused on the health and development of children in foster care. Currently she is training in toxicology -- intentional and unintentional drug overdoses, environmental exposures, and envenomations -- with the goal of collaborating with clinicians in Haiti. She received her M.D. from Cornell University in 1998 and her M.P.H. from the University of Minnesota in 2008. alburgessmilbank@gmail.com
